The Big Bear Scare   

Big Bear Lake is the place to eat, drink, and be scary.  We’ve been communicating with spooks and spirits to bring you your favorite Halloween activities every weekend September 14th through October!

Scare Valley Farms  Halloween Haunt
September 15 – October 27 (except September 21)
All Fridays & Saturdays 630pm – 11pm
Dare to travel back to the early 1900s for a truly frightening experience making your way through a haunted ghost town, mine shaft and cemetery, creepy carnival, skin-crawling hillbilly hayride, terrifying slaughterhouse, undead swamp, and more, all before witnessing live executions. Haunted Pirate Ship at Halloway’s Marina 
September 15 – October 31

Ahoy mateys!  Board the Haunted Pirate Ship, sail Big Bear Lake and be prepared to be haunted by the real paranormal stories of Big Bear that will keep you looking over your shoulder for spirits, flying objects and more.  Great for families, rich in history; 2pm tour only; regular rates apply.  Check web site for reservations.

Scarecrow Festival in the Village
September 21st  – November 4th daily
Be a part of the competition and vote for your favorite Scarecrow presentation in the Village by local merchants, non-profits and service clubs.  Six categories represented ranging from the spookiest to most humorous; great family fun; get your ballots and maps at merchants throughout the Village; drop at designated locations by October 30.  Winner announced Halloween Night, October 31!

Jeepers Creepers at Big Bear Jeep Experience  
October 1 – 31; daily 5:30p ]m– 7:30pm (Except October 15th – 19th) Experience the forest in a Jeep that you rent and drive; bring family and friends for a two-hour tour on Big Bear’s exciting, challenging and historic Gold Fever Trail.  The Oak trees put on a Falltacular brilliant display of colors.  Join in the two-way radio conversation as your guide story tells the mining history, historic hangman tree and see what creeps you out at night!  Great photo opts!  Closed October 15th – 19th

Haunted Maze at Bear Necessities

All Sundays; 5pm– 6pm
Horror-ific family fun and photo opportunities for all ages.  Creep through a spooky cemetery ~ only if you dare ~ with creatures lurking in the self-guided maze.  Don’t miss this spooky stop on your Big Bear Scare-tacular tour.  Start at Scary Bear Necessities located at Big Bear Vacations.  Free admission.

Creepy Crawly Fun in the Village at Mountain Room Escapes 
September 14 – October 26 All Fridays; 7pm
Kids ages 5 – 12  can escape to Mountain Room Escapes every Friday for an hour of hands-on fun making slime, meeting the giant Madagascar hissing cockroaches, or learning some magic tricks. Check web site for week activity schedule.

Fall-O-Ween Festivities at Gold Rush Mining Adventures 
September 9 – November 3; daily 10am – 5pm
