Things to Do

Art & History

From an award-winning symphony, boutique galleries, exceptional regional museums, and open-air festivals, the Inland Empire has a rich and thriving creative culture. Attend a full-scale performance at California Theater and discover a treasure trove of national attractions. Take in our historic exhibitions then go see the real thing. Soak up local culture and explore artists’ studios in the Morongo Basin or celebrate at an outdoor festival in Ontario. See a play in the oldest theatre in Fontana or attend a concert under the stars in the mountains.

Art in the Desert

The Morongo Basin is known for its desert and mountain vistas, clear skies, brilliant star-filled nights, world-class murals and public art; Twentynine Palms is an oasis for artists and nature lovers, a restful getaway for visitors, a scenic location for photography and filming, and a friendly community for families, singles, retirees, and snowbirds”. Chamber of Commerce.

Planes of Fame

Established in 1957, this pioneer in the “flying museum” concept restores historic aircraft to flying condition. The collection currently showcases over 100 aircraft featuring warbirds and other historic planes. Special events on the first Saturday of each month. Open daily, except Thanksgiving and Christmas.
